Confirmation Requirements

The Diocese of Reno requires 2 full years of religious instruction before the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. This formation begins in the 9th grade with reception of the sacrament in the 10th grade. Special accommodations can be made for those older than 15 who still need to be confirmed. Some parishes require a series of “update sessions” prior to starting the first year of formation if the teen has not been involved in religious education since receiving First Eucharist.
